Knight of the Cross
Tommy Genoble “Invictus”
Knight of the Cross
Follower of Saint Michael
Tommy is an orphan who was raised in a Catholic orphanage in NYC. He was a troubled youth who got into trouble often. He did not really follow the teachings of the church and only paid lip service to his prayers. On one of the few outings outside the orphanage, Tommy got into it with a local gang of thugs and head bangers. He was severely beaten and would not have made it except for Father Moore who rescued the boy from his torment. Father More took Tommy under his wing and taught him self-defense and how to protect others from evil. Father Moore introduced Tommy to Saint Michael, protector and soldier of God. Tommy took to this teaching with interest; it finally gave him a purpose.
One night while praying to Saint Michael, Tommy had a vision. In it a soldier was fighting demons with a shining sword. The soldier defeated many of the demons, but was finally brought down by the evil creatures. With the soldiers last breath he turned to Tommy and offered him the sword. The next morning a package arrived for Tommy. From that point on Tommy took a new name, Invictus, and became a Knight of the Cross. He pledged to God that he would hunt demons and fight evil wherever he was called.
Father Moore introduced me to Simon Grayson and asked me to help him with his problem. I said sure, not knowing that this problem involved going to the Nevernever and fighting the guardians of some mysterious tower. Well I fought through the guardians to the top of the tower only find it empty except for a scrap of paper. It seemed important to Simon, so I guess it was worth it.
Having helped Simon I decided to ask for his help taking down the Genoa Family. It all started with some info from Riley Smith, an investigative reporter with some dirt on the Mob. I suspected someone big was into the new rash of drug related deaths springing up around the city. Turns out it was bigger than that. After some careful investigation I found out that the Mob boss was actually demon possessed. Damn Denarians! With Simons help we crashed his little party and put down another demon. Unfortunately Simon grabbed the silver coin that was dropped by the demon before I could get to it. He quickly gave it to me, but the damage was done. He seems OK now, but I will have to watch him closely. To help Riley with another Mob Family, I set things up to look like it was a Mob war between the Genoa Family and the McDoogle Family to divert attention both from me and from Riley.
